Trust Status
Formal Notice
Manor Foundation Business, Enterprise and Sports College: Proposal to become a Trust School in partnership with Wood Green High School, College of Sport, Maths and Computing.
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the Governing Body of Manor Foundation Business, Enterprise and Sports College intends to make a prescribed alteration to Manor Foundation Business, Enterprise and Sports College, Friar Park Road, Wednesbury, West Midlands, WS10 0JS subject to these proposals. The proposed alteration is to acquire a Trust from April 2008.
(i) The name of the proposed Trust is the Wednesbury Innovation Trust (ii) Member Organisations: Norwest Holst Ltd English Table Tennis Association University of Wolverhampton Community Vocational Learning Centre Project Working Group (iii) Trustees: Mr M Voss, Regional Director, Norwest Holst Ltd, 6230 Bishop’s Court, Birmingham Business Park, Birmingham B37 7Y8 Mrs L Cartwright, Secondary Partnership Coordinator, University of Wolverhampton, School of Education, Gorway Road, Walsall, WS1 3BD Mr D Gray, English Table Tennis Association, Queensbury House, Third Floor, Havelock Road, Hastings, East Sussex TN34 1HF Mr J White, Director PISCESwm, 302b the Big Peg, Vyse Street, Hockley, Birmingham B18 6NF (iv) Rationale: This is a new type of school, part of the Local Authority system, which will come into operation in April 2008, following the Education and Inspections Act 2006. As a self-governing Trust School, Manor Foundation Business, Enterprise and Sports College will benefit from increased financial and management autonomy, building on the strengths of local management and the expertise of the Governing Body and external partners. Manor Foundation Business, Enterprise and Sports College enjoys strong partnerships with a range of external organisations and the move to Trust Status would allow the school to build on existing relationships, formalise what already takes place and offer a stronger voice to its partners. The school believes that together they can help raise standards by developing new practice. (v) New direction: The Trust partners will contribute to the advancement of education and help raise standards in the following ways:
