Welcome to Manor Foundation, Business, Enterprise and Sports College. I am privileged to be Headteacher here and to work with so many talented and committed staff both teaching and support staff. We have recently been awarded by the DfES Specialist Status for Business, Enterprise and Sports which will bring a significant investment into the school and there will be a brand new school built planned for completion by 2010. We have already spent over £240,000 updating all the ICT equipment to ensure we can provide the best education appropriate to the 21 st Century. Everyone who works here is committed to providing a high quality educational experience possible for our young people. We aim to make sure that they are highly skilled and responsible young adults, when they leave after seven years with us, who will be able to continue with higher and further education as they prepare for the next stage of their lives. We would expect them to be able to fully participate in the life of their communities as confident articulate young people.

Our exam results have improved significantly over the last few years and we have been able to provide courses which ensure that pupils not only achieve but enjoy their experience and develop the skills for their prospective careers with many going onto further and higher education. A number of our subject specialists work with local businesses and the community through trips and visits and discussion groups with “experts” to enable pupils to learn in context and gain a real insight into the needs and aspirations of local businesses and the community.

Manor Foundation… has recently had a successful OfSTED Inspection in February 2006 which endorsed the improvements we have made in recent years. We have gained the following Awards for Investors in People, Healthy Schools, Inclusion, Careers Education and Guidance, Sportsmark and Study Support which is an indication of our determination to provide the best possible education experience for all our young people.

Manor Foundation, Business, Enterprise and Sports College is one of the smallest schools in the area which has a distinct advantage in that our pupils are well known by staff . The pupils actually told the School Inspectors that they appreciated being known by the staff.

We pride ourselves in treating every pupil as a special individual and providing a safe and supportive atmosphere in the school to enable all our young people to flourish. OfSTED recognised “that the school provides good quality care, support and guidance…and that pupils appreciate the advice they are given.”. We expect high standards of learning and behaviour from our young people to ensure the safe and secure environment.
